Our Plan to Stay Safe During Coronavirus

We are so excited to be finally welcoming back our clients and to be offering our hair and makeup services once again

Your safety is of the upmost important to us and although we always ensure a high level of hygiene, we have introduced some additional safety and hygiene precautions to ensure both our clients and artists are kept as safe as possible.

Prior To Your Booking

Client Health Declaration Form

We will ask you and any others having services to complete a “Health Declaration Form” prior to your booking. This will ask for your contact details, about your current health status and whether you, or anyone you have come into contact* with, are experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus. Should you be feeling unwell please let us know immediately as the booking will have to be cancelled/rescheduled. We will not be able to carry out services on anyone who may be experiencing coronavirus symptoms or has been recently diagnosed with the virus.

According to the NHS, main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

This form will be sent you prior to your booking and will then need to be forwarded on by you to anyone receiving services on the booking. This form will need to be completed prior to your booking. We will not be able to carry out services on anyone who has not completed this form.

You should notify myself or the artist on your booking immediately should there be any changes to your or your bridal party’s form answers prior to the booking.

Your Artist & Coronavirus

Should any artist develop coronavirus symptoms or are informed that someone with whom they have been in contact* within the past 14 days may have become infected with coronavirus, they will:

  • Follow the advice of the UK National Health Service and UK Government, namely:
    • Stay at home for 7 days from the 1st date of symptoms
    • Stay at home for 14 days from the 1st date of symptoms of a person who lives at the same home address as the artist.
  • Make contact via phone call, text message or email with everyone whom the artist been in contact with in the past 14 days, to inform them that they should also follow the advice above.

In the unfortunate event that your artist develops coronavirus symptoms up to 14 days prior to your booking, we will make every effort to find you an equally capable replacement artist who will be fully briefed on both your and your bridal party’s hair and makeup looks. If this is not possible, a full refund will be given for the wedding day services.

Preparing For Your Booking

To ensure everyone’s safety, we will be asking you to make sure the following safety measures are met for the booking.

Artist’s Working Area

Please ensure hand washing facilities are available in the area/nearby where the artist will be working.

Please ensure the area where the artist will be working is well ventilated and preferably near a window.

Please limit the number of the people in the room where the artist is working – where possible this should be limited to the artist and the person whom they are working on at the time.

Social distancing measures must be adhered to at all times, except when an artist is working on a client and this is not possible.

Please ensure the space where the artist will be working is of sufficient space and has been cleared of any clutter so that the artist can work as safely and efficiently as possible.

Allow for Extra Time

Additional hygiene measures will mean extra time will have to be built into your schedules for cleaning/disinfecting workspace and equipment before/after services and in-between clients. Myself or your artist will send you over a detailed schedule prior to your booking so everyone in your bridal party will know when they are needed for their services. Please bear this extra time in mind for your booking – although we appreciate this may mean earlier start times for you it is necessary for us to provide the safest possible service for you and your bridal party.

Traveling to Bookings

To help minimise risk of infection and ensure safety of our clients, artists will avoid travelling to bookings via public transport where possible. This may mean you will need organise parking in advance of the booking. Standard travel/parking/congestion fees will apply where applicable. In instances where the artist does travel via public transport, they must wear a face covering whilst travelling and carry a hand sanitiser which must be used regularly.

At Your Booking

Regular Hand Washing & Hand Sanitising

Upon arrival at your booking, your artist will wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum 20 seconds. We will also ask for any other party members arriving at their booking to do the same. Should you be travelling to your artist’s home for your appointment, you will be asked to wash your hands upon arrival.

Your artist will continue to wash/sanitise their hands throughout your booking and in-between clients, including, but not limited to:

  • Before and after using the toilet
  • Before commencing any services and in-between clients
  • After putting on or removing any PPE
  • After touching face with bare hands
  • After coming into contact with surfaces that haven’t been disinfected, for example handles or mobile phones.

Your artist will also ask you to wash/sanitise your hands, including, but not limited to:

  • After using the toilet
  • Before your services commence
  • After touching face with bare hands
  • After coming into contact with surfaces during your services, such as your mobile phone

Your artist will provide you with hand sanitiser to use during your services.

Personal Protective Equipment & Face Coverings

As per the government guidelines on PPE regarding close contact services, all artists will be required to wear a clear plastic visor or goggles and a Type II face mask during all services, which will either be disposed of or cleaned and sanitised at the end of each booking.

Your artist may wear a disposable apron/gown during services. If an apron or gown is not worn, the artist’s upper garments will be changed once services have been completed.

Disposable PPE will be disposed of after service either straight onto a bin with a lid or into a plastic rubbish bag which will be tied up and then disposed of.

Reusable PPE will be removed and placed in a sealable plastic bag after service. This will then be taken home by the artist to be sanitised before being used again.

Disinfecting Surfaces

Your artist will disinfect surfaces in their workspace and/or lay down a clean/disposable towel (or similar) before laying out their kit.

Any kit products your artist touches during service will be disinfected and wiped down after.

Your artist will avoid touching their mobile phone and any other personal items whilst services are being provided. If this is unavoidable your artist will ensure they sanitise their hands before resuming services. We also ask that clients help mitigate risks by avoiding touching personal items such as mobile phones during their service.

Makeup Kit Hygiene Precautions

  • Artists will use one set of makeup brushes per client. These will then be placed into a sealed plastic bag (or similar) until they can be fully sanitised using an appropriate anti-viral solution.
  • Disposable makeup tools will be used where possible
  • Artists will ensure all tools (including but not limited to eyelash curlers, tweezers, sharpeners and scissors) are fully disinfected after use and in-between clients using an effective anti-viral solution. All tools will be taken home at the end of the booking to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.
  • Artists will scoop makeup products onto a disposable/sanitised stainless-steel palette or use a fresh brush for each application in order to reduce the risk of cross-contamination through “double dipping”
  • Lip and eye pencils will be sharpened in-between each use and dipped or sprayed with an effective solution to disinfect before/after use.
  • Any products/bottles/cases touched will be thoroughly wiped down and disinfected after service.
  • Effective anti-bacterial solutions such will be used to sanitised makeup where necessary.

Hair Kit Hygiene Precautions

  • All cream/gel/liquid hair products should be decanted using a clean/disposable spatula onto a clean stainless steel/disposable palette for the artist to work form or pumped directly into clean hands.

Hairbrushes and combs will be taken home at the end of the day to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised. Used brushes will be kept separate from clean brushes to avoid cross contamination.
  • Artists will minimise the use of hairdryers wherever possible. Please help with this where possible by ensuring your hair is washed and dried before your artist arrives to the booking.

Avoid Face Touching

To help mitigate infection risks both artists and clients should avoid touching their face with bare hands during services.

Rubbish

All rubbish such as tissues, disposables, wipes etc used during booking will be placed into a plastic bag after use. This will be sealed and disposed of at the end of the booking.

Sneezing & Coughing

All clients will be provided access to tissues should they need to sneeze or cough. This should be done into the tissue and immediately disposed of in either the artist’s “rubbish bag” which will then be tied up and disposed of or into a bin with a lid. Clients will then need to sanitise their hands using hand sanitiser which will be provided by your artist. Your artist will do the same should they need to sneeze or cough. In instances when a tissue is not readily available, you should sneeze or cough into the inside of a bent elbow.

Temperature Checks

As an added precaution, your artist may ask to take your temperature to confirm the absence of fever before commencing services.
