Hampton Manor Hair & Makeup for Gerri

I was delighted to be asked to do the hair and makeup for Gerri for her amazing wedding at Hampton Manor in Arden.

Gerri was looking for a hairstyle that was modern yet timeless. Given the beautiful low back on her stunning Enzoani dress, she wanted to make the most of this by having her hair up but did express her concerns about this as she is used to having her hair down. I created a chic and modern chignon with texture so it didn’t look too “done”. I wanted to create volume without the style looking to “beehivey” and old fashioned. I left a few loose waves around the front to frame her face and soften the look. She was delighted with the finished look and was surprised at how full I managed to make the bun without the use of any padding or extensions! To complete the look, Gerri had purchased an amazing hair comb from Eden B Studio. The hair piece was made up of beautiful handmade porcelain flowers and really popped against her dark hair.

For Gerri’s makeup, she wanted to accentuate and define her features without looking too overdone. I used Urban Decay’s Heat Palette to create a soft, warm toned smokey eye and added gel liner across the lash line to define her eyes. I kept the foundation light and glowy, only adding concealer where higher coverage was needed. I wanted to keep the skin looking fresh and dewy and so used cream blusher and finished with highlighter on the cheekbones, brow bone and cupid’s bow. I added a bronzer under the cheekbones and round the outer perimeter of her face to add a bonzed, sunkissed effect. I finished the look with Charlotte Tilbury’s signature lipstick Pillow talk which was the perfect nude for Gerri and complimented the rest of the makeup look perfectly!
