I'M LAUREN

I specialise in creating natural and effortlessly beautiful hair and makeup for modern brides looking for luxury, bespoke services for their wedding day.

My unique style puts a contemporary twist on bridal hair and makeup; combining fashion forward trends with classic styles to create beautiful, timeless looks. My aim is to modernise that outdated “bridal style” to something which is much more chic and wearable.

So, what’s my signature look? Think soft, relaxed hairstyles that have texture and movement and radiant glowy makeup looks that enhance and define. I also know the importance of still feeling like yourself on such an important day, so my bespoke service means the hair and makeup look I create will be tailored to perfectly compliment YOU!

MY STORY

Having started out as a portrait artist I decided to concentrate my creative talents on becoming a hair and makeup artist. This is a career that would combine two passions of mine art and fashion. After graduating I tried my hand within several areas of the industry including TV and film. I left this to focus on launching my bridal company and working behind the scenes on photo shoots in the fashion industry.

Currently I split my time between my bridal company and freelancing for fashion and commercial clients. I have created hair and makeup looks for many prestigious brands including Karen Millen, Oasis, Warehouse and Anthropologie. Having experience within both the wedding and fashion industries means I can unite these skills to create effortlessly beautiful looks to suit any modern bride. My fashion background also means I am able to produce gorgeous wedding hair and makeup looks that will look great in both real life and your photographs.

WEDDING HAIR & MAKEUP BY LAUREN

I know that the modern day bride doesn’t necessarily want to look too “bridal”. We’re moving away from overly structured updos and outdated makeup trends and wanting something cooler with a fashion forward edge. I like to take a modern approach to wedding hair and makeup, putting a contemporary twist on classic styles.

I believe in letting your natural beauty shine through by enhancing your features rather than hiding them under a mask of excessive make up. For me, skin should look effortlessly fresh and natural. I like to create that bridal glow (without looking shiny!). Hair should have texture and movement and not be hairsprayed within an inch of its life!

It’s important to still feel like “you” on your wedding day. Your hair and makeup should reflect your personality and own style. I take a friendly, relaxed approach with my brides. I like to really get to know my brides. Asking questions, listening and finding out who you are and the kind of styles you like. Using this information, along with my professional input, I will create a bespoke look that will compliment and enhance my bride’s natural beauty. My bride’s can be confident that they will not only look amazing but still feel like themselves (but an even better version!).

BEHIND THE SCENES

I live with my husband Ben in South West London on a lovely tree lined street right near Wandsworth Common – a quiet oasis away from the busy city. I originally grew up in the Midlands but even when I was growing up I knew I wanted to end up in London. I love that there’s always something new and exciting happening – I think I’d be bored living anywhere else!

When I’m not busy working you can probably find me having a coffee with friends or wandering around an art galley. And when I’m feeling a little less cultural….at the pub! I’m also a massive foodie and love trying out new restaurants or holding dinner parties for my family and friends. And at the end of the day when I’m winding down, there’s always a glass of wine and trash TV!
